Evelien is in the final year of the research master Methodology and Statistics for the Behavioural, Biomedical and Social Sciences. Prior to this, she obtained an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts and Sciences degree at University College Utrecht, during which she mainly focused on Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology.

Currently Evelien is writing her master’s thesis in collaboration with Netherlands eScience Center, under supervision of Rens and Adriënne Mendrik. In the context of grand challenges in biomedical image analysis, they will investigate whether Bayesian statistics can contribute to algorithm assessment. It will be used to combine grand challenges, where the ground truth of the datasets has been obtained in different ways. Prior knowledge based on one challenge can for example be used to evaluate algorithms in another challenge.
